I’m so excited to announce that we are expanding our family and adding a little member! I post more about fashion, beauty, sales, etc.. but I do want to dedicate a blog post for my pregnancy announcement and share some details with you.
If you didn’t know, I am also a step mama and my stepkids are 10 and 9 years old. I’ve been in their lives since they were 1 and 2 years old and I’ve loved watching them grow up each year. It is definitely time for us to have another little one into the mix. There will definitely be an age gap between the kids, but it’s something I’ve learned to not worry about. The kiddos are super excited to have a sibling, especially my daughter who is so excited to FINALLY be an older sister in our family.
This means that this is my first pregnancy and I’m so so excited! Currently, I am 16 weeks pregnant and my due date is August 2nd. I’m out of the first trimester, yay!!
I also found out the sex of the baby on Valentine’s Day and we are having a baby GIRL *screams*!! I cannot wait to shop for all of the girl items.. they are truly the best when I’m walking down the baby section.
I have to say that my first trimester really wasn’t all bad. I found out I was pregnant almost immediately because we had been trying and I was tracking my ovulation cycle. The symptoms I had were tender and sore breasts. I didn’t have morning sickness, I wasn’t fatigued, I didn’t get nauseous, none of that. The only thing I will say that I’ve been struggling with is gagging. I’ve had a pre-existing health condition, hiatal hernia, prior to being pregnant and it’s gotten worse since being pregnant.
Hiatal hernia is a condition in which the stomach pushes up through the diaphragm. This specifically causes me to have the urge to gag multiple times throughout the day. Prior to becoming pregnant, I would gag a few times a day, but since I was about 8 weeks pregnant, I have been gagging way too frequently. Frequent as in 1-3 times every hour. My doctors have said that it’s normal for it to occur in pregnancy, but it’s definitely been a nuisance for me. In the first trimester, it would make me feel drained, but not enough to where I couldn’t push through it during the day. Now that I’m in the second trimester, I feel that it’s gotten a little better to where I don’t feel like crap when I gag too often, but I’m definitely hoping that it doesn’t get any worse.
Overall, I have been feeling good in my pregnancy and I am definitely grateful and blessed. I have been enjoying my pregnancy and tracking the baby’s growth through apps and all the things. I can’t lie and say that I’m not nervous about birth and having a newborn, but I am definitely way more excited than being nervous.
I definitely want to start a pregnancy blog series throughout the following months, so I will continue to share my personal experience with you all!
Love,
Taylor
