As much as I hate to say, I have only been using dry shampoo for the past two years. How did I live without it for so long?! I really have no idea, but I would ALWAYS wash my hair daily before I had highlights. I’d wonder how do people go days without washing their hair? It wasn’t until I realized it was because of dry shampoo! Dry shampoo is a daily-must now, so I wanted to share my two favorite dry shampoo products.
Batiste vs. Living Proof
When I first started using dry shampoo I did my research and looked on all the best reviews there were and Batiste was a top-rated product. I cannot say more that I LOVE the product. They have a range of selection that includes different scents and even have specific products for different colored-hair.
I have to say, for a small bottle that’s only $7.99 it is amazing. I spray A LOT for the day due to my super oily hair, but once you rub in the product the white residue should mostly be gone. If it’s still there, keep rubbing until it’s gone!
Pros: removes a lot of oil, smells great, and inexpensive
Cons: leaves white residue
Now I recently picked up the Living Proof dry shampoo when it was on sale at Ulta. It’s a small bottle for $24, but it works just as good as the Batiste and I actually love it more! The reason is that when I use it, it’s as if I didn’t even use dry shampoo. It gives a much more natural result instead of people seeing that you used a ton of dry shampoo on your head. :
Pros: natural look, doesn’t leave white residue, rosy-scent, less product needed for your result
Cons: more expensive
I use both dry shampoos now and since the Living Proof is higher-priced, I tend to use it on Day 1 on no hair wash days so it makes my hair look good as new. I will use Batiste on days where my hair is super oil-y because I spray more product to get rid of my greasy hair. If you are wanting to use the Living Proof, I say get it because it’s worth it. Whether you want to use it on a daily is up to you, but overall you won’t be disappointed.
